With a Special Focus on Rural Indiana
A statewide team of Purdue Center for Regional Development and Community Development Extension staff conducted a study on national, state and local housing programs and/or policies intended to improve the availability and quality of rural housing. Valuable information was gathered on programs for state and local leaders and organizations to use in their communities to encourage expansion of market rate housing.
Focus group meetings were held with community members to obtain their input on housing issues in their county. The report and case studies profile the issues and challenges that were consistently expressed at the study sites. Strategies to consider for improving housing conditions in their local area were shared with local and state leaders.
