Patty Keating

Patty Keating is the Purdue Extension Educator for Community Development in Porter County. Previously, she coordinated 4-H and Youth Development programs for Extension in LaPorte County, specializing in volunteer management. Other work experience includes grant writing, fundraising and development, special event planning, community collaborations and the implementation of a $1.2 million federal grant to create the Safe Harbor After-School Program in Michigan City.

In her current role, Patty works with leadership, grant writing and organizational development. Current projects include the Valparaiso Leadership Academy and the development and implementation of the “Beginner’s Guide to Grant Writing” course. She is a recent graduate of the National Extension Leadership Development (NELD) program. She has a Master’s degree in Student Personnel Administration from Ball State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations and Psychology from Purdue University.
