Daniel Walker

Daniel Walker is the Purdue Community Development Extension’s Community Planning Extension Specialist. From 2010-2016, he served as a Planner and Project Manager for the City of Lafayette, Indiana. He was staff to the City’s Redevelopment, Historic Preservation and Parking Commissions, the Lafayette Urban Enterprise Association. He managed the City’s CDBG infrastructure and demolition programs. He served on the Board of Directors of the Wabash Valley Trust for Historic Preservation from 2014-2015.

At Purdue, Daniel collaborates with Extension professionals and Illinois-Indiana Sea Grant staff to facilitate and develop community planning workshops and curricula that assist community planning efforts throughout Indiana as well as the Great Lakes Region. He is also a member of the Purdue Extension’s Land Use team. He earned a Master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Ball State University and a B.A. in History/Secondary Education from Monmouth College in Monmouth, Illinois. He is a member of the American Planning Association’s Institute of Certified Planners.
