Curt Emanuel is the Boone County Extension Director and Educator for Community Development and Agriculture & Natural Resources. His responsibilities involve providing educational information and resources to Clinton County residents in the areas of Community Development and Agriculture & Natural Resources, utilizing the resources and knowledge base of Purdue University and the Land Grant University System.
His Extension work includes experience with land use and local planning and zoning. He is a member of the Purdue Extension Land Use Team. He was President of the Clinton County Area Plan Commission and guided Clinton County through a Comprehensive Land Use Planning Process. He has experience with renewable energy, particularly wind energy, and has drafted a number of ordinances related to this. He is a delegate to the Extension Disaster Education Network and has been involved in a variety of emergency and disaster planning efforts at the national, state and local levels including farm emergency planning and biosecurity planning for livestock operations. He is familiar with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and has assisted with several community projects involving digital mapping. Currently, he is working on active living efforts in Lebanon and Boone County.
A former professional horse trainer, he has a B.S. in Animal Science from Cornell University, an M.S. in Educational Administration from SUNY Albany and has worked for Purdue Extension since 1990.
